Update: Man charged over Para Hills fire

Police have charged a man following a fire at a Para Hills house this morning.

Just before 5am on Monday 5 April, police and fire crews were called to reports of a fire at the front of a Todd Road home.

A nearby police patrol were quick to respond and spotted a man riding a motorised bike in close proximity to the incident.  The patrol attempted to stop the man, but he accelerated away and was followed through back streets until he was stopped on O’Grady Drive near Hodge Road a few minutes later.

Meanwhile MFS crews extinguished a fire in a wheelie bin that had been placed up against the front of the house, causing smoke damage to the home and destroyed the bin.
